This is the removable FS field iris diaphragm / field-stop assembly used in the Olympus BX-RFA / BX-RFAA reflected-fluorescence illumination system.
The assembly contains the complete adjustable circular iris diaphragm mechanism, control shaft, housing and front FS mounting plate shown in the photographs.

The field iris diaphragm restricts the illuminated area of the specimen and helps reduce unnecessary stray light, improving image contrast. Olympus documentation for the BX-RFAA identifies separate field iris diaphragm and aperture iris diaphragm controls.

Removed from an Olympus BX61TRF microscope system that was in working condition before dismantling.
The photographs show the diaphragm in different positions, including open and stopped-down, confirming that the iris blades are present and mechanically movable.
There are normal cosmetic marks from previous laboratory use.
The assembly has not been reinstalled and optically centred in a BX-RFA/BX-RFAA illuminator after removal.
